  • So far so good, question about Battery Gauge - 2014 Honda Accord Hybrid
    By -

Just picked up my Accord Hybrid Touring edition a few days ago. Quiet, smooth, reasonable power. I have a question to you other owners. I cant get my hybrid battery gauge above 6 bars, and gas mileage above 40 MPG Does your gauge go to the full 8 bars? Id like to know before I ask the dealer. Came out of a Mercedes E350, not the same standard of luxury, but I love all the techno gadgets.

  • Everything good but rear windshield - 2014 Honda Accord Hybrid
    By -

I am happy for what I picked especially the mpg about average over 44 mpg for my first tank of gas. For all Accord hybrid: Please pay attention to your rear windshield, Have you see any object or image of waviness, curving around like you are in a steamy hot desert???? My Honda service manager, advisor all seems happen only on Hybrid. Honda wont do nothing if you all dont complaint it. I cant see ant straight line behind me!!!!!

Amazing MPG if drive in city or back roads highway 55-60 miles per hour, drops about 10 miles in cold winter and heavy rain, I have been getting 55 mpg easily on City and small highway, I got repeatedly 60-70 mg in a prolonged City drive, I cannot believe it myself. Interstate 45 mpg at 70 miles per hour, and drops if you go faster. I rented a Toyota pruis, the ride and and quality of the Honda is far much better, a difference of day and night, you feel like you are in a luxury car in the Honda accord hybrid. I am surprised how people pay for the Toyota pruis while the got get a Honda accord hybrid . The mpg is not much better in the Toyota pruis , actually the Honda hybrid accord gets better MPG in certain situations and roads. It is a car with no transmission, only one in the world for this price, so it is unique and it is a history in the making. I think the KARMA does not have transmission too. Honda always do stuff like that like the Honda S 2000 only street car with RPM up to 9000. or Tesla an electric car with a range of 300 miles and beats M5. In other words this is a historic car, NO TRANSMISSION . Change between different driving modes feels like a gear change, and becomes predictable when you get used to driving. Loud noise at certain slow driving situations is understandable when you know how the iMMD works. I call it the iVTEC SYMPHONY. It makes you feel like you are driving a FORMULA 1 CAR, which is hybrid by the way. The car is sporty like a Honda accord and faster than the 4 cylinder accord, and priced right between the v6 and 4 cylinder accord, so you do not feel like you spend too much on a hybrid and worry about recovering the cost of the hybrid. Gas prices are down below 2$, I feel I made a good choice by buying a Honda accord hybrid, I have not lost any power or fun going hybrid. I feel all cars should have this system. you can watch my you tube videos at physics Honda accord hybrid.

  • Exceptional Gas Mileage - 2014 Honda Accord Hybrid

Ive owned my Accord Hybrid for well over a year. I have 17k miles on it. Ive keep track of my mileage and record it every fillup. Honda is right on the mark with the mileage claims for this vehicle. Yes, it is true that cold weather takes a toll on the mileage in the short term; as does cruising above 70 mph continuously. Pre-heating or cooling the interior, ditto. Its all in how you drive it. My "real world" mileage is exactly what was advertised if you combine the extraordinary summer mileage (55+) with the still impressive (42+-) cold weather mileage and average it. It works for me, and I take no heroic measures to accomplish this. Honda did their homework on this car, and its true.

  • Honda Did a Good Job on the New Accord Hybrid - 2014 Honda Accord Hybrid
    By -

Honda has done a good job on their latest Accord Hybrid. It is at the opposite end of the spectrum from the original HAH. Our other car is a 2013 Camry Hybrid XLE and the new HAH has a slightly better ride (feel and sound level) but looks and feels much more luxurious. The HAH trunk appears to be noticeably smaller than the TCH even though it is stated as only 0.5 CF smaller. The USB audio interface in the EX-L model is totally unusable, to the point we said we wouldnt purchase that model without immediately replacing the head unit. The I/F on the Touring is better but still not up to that in others products. The HAH is much more expensive than its gas counter part than the TCH.

43MPG.. 12 months of driving. Very poor pickup ( even compared to other Hybrid). No so fun to drive. Not worth the extra cost.

  • DONT BELIEVE THE GAS MILEAGE HYPE! - 2014 Honda Accord Hybrid
    By -

I was sold on the MPG numbers, but my Accord gets 34mpg hwy and 40 city. I took it back to Hendrick Honda and they gave me a lecture on potential poor driving habits. They said they checked everything and all was fine. This is my fifth Honda Accord so I have come to expect a certain degree of service and reliability. I FEEL BETRAYED BY HONDA. I dont know who these people who claim high MPG are. Hendrick Honda will not do a thing about mine though. ROY at Hendick Honda in Easley, SC was rude and condescending. For me its ZERO or HERO. I give the 2014 Honda Accord Hybrid a "ZERO".

  • Not What I expected - 2014 Honda Accord Hybrid
    By -

This is the 4th Hybrid car that I have owned. The other 3 were Lexus ES300H, Lexus CT200H, and a 2012 Camry Hybrid. All previous models got the exact MPG that they stated they would give. This Accord with 5k miles on it, isnt even close. Im averaging 39 mpg. When I talked to the service department at my local dealer, they gave me the old Ford answer...you have to break it in? Wow! The other 3 I did not have to break in...why would you a Honda? Also, I am getting a loud popping noise out of the drivers side front end. At the end of the day, this car has some nice features for safety...but it is certainly not worth more that $6k more that the Camry Hybrid.

  • Gas Mileage Update: 17k miles on vehicle - 2014 Honda Accord Hybrid
    By -

On average I get between 38 and 45 mpg combined. I will say it depends heavily on your coasting vs. using the throttle and brakes heavily. During the summer months I got closer to 45-55 mpg but during the winter months it appears as though the 38-42 is more accurate hence my 38-45 range.

  • 2014 Accord Hybrid Great Ride - 2014 Honda Accord Hybrid

I purchased when Accord Hybrids were new in fall of 2014, in Wisconsin. Sticker price 36k with navigation. Purchased for about 33k. Not a great discount but nobody had them in stock. Thats OK. First wave buyers accept that. Mileage is about 43-44 in nice-moderate weather. Drops to 38 in winter cold. Now that the car is over a year old, I thought Id share my impressions. Im glad I bought it! It drives better than I expected. It has excellent pick up, handling AND BRAKING! The trunk is medium sized due to hybrid- no problem, I could see that before I bought. Its fun to drive which is nice. The car is plenty big for four adults- which is why I wanted Accord vs Prius or Civic. Its a pleasure to go to the gas station half as much as I used to. I realize with the purchase price of the car vs gas price, you dont win financially necessarily. But you dont have to refill as often. Ive had absolutely no problems with it- just 2 oil changes. With elderly parents 100 miles away, on a moments notice we can get the 911 call. Its nice not to have to take the time and anguish to gas up when youre in a hurry to get there. We can do a round trip with 1/3 tank. Big surprise- my wife loves to drive it. She has never really "liked" a car before. Just transportation. But she enjoys driving this one. I highly recommend the Accord Hybrid.
